Haras du Pin, technical solutions for national heritage
|
Project: Haras national du Pin Product: right-sliding gate, folding gate hardware, self-supporting sliding fences Location: France |
The Haras national du Pin in Southern Normandy is France’s oldest national stud farm and a protected historic estate with high standards for sustainability and craftsmanship. Various sliding and folding door solutions were implemented in this project, designed for intensive use and large dimensions. The suspended sliding door systems enable heavy doors and gates to be moved in a controlled manner. The hardware used is visibly present but seamlessly and consistently integrated into the architecture. In addition, folding door systems ensure flexibility in use, with smooth operation and minimal impact on the passageway thanks to a sophisticated bottom-guided system. For the entrance gates, self-supporting sliding gates were chosen, eliminating the need for a track in the ground and leaving the pavement completely unobstructed. The project demonstrates the way functional hardware solutions can be reliably and maintenance-friendly implemented within a historic setting, without compromising on ease of use or aesthetic appeal. |
