The recently opened Osiris Model Home shows what Osiris Hertman Studio’s architects, interior designers, and product designers are capable of doing. “The invisible neo hinges and the pivotica pro system from ARLU fit perfectly in that setting because hidden hardware ensures tranquillity in the interior,” says creator Osiris Hertman himself.
Though this was not the first time we integrated the ARLU invisible and pivotica hinges into one of our interior designs,” explains Osiris Hertman. The creator of the eponymous Studio refers to his long experience in the production of interior doors. “We join forces with the better interior designers for this. They were the ones who told me about the ARLU systems and I was immediately won over.”
Design that doesn’t distract
Osiris Hertman continues: “The kitchen-breakfast room made its appearance fifteen years ago. And now, the bathroom is increasingly becoming home to a true wellness experience. The top floor of our model home was conceived as a place to relax in the house. I felt it was essential that the corridor to it has the same atmosphere. By the way, the length and the consistent wood cladding make it look like an entrance to a temple, in which everything is concealed, even the hinges of the interior doors. Visitors think it’s incredible that this was done in such detail. Although, I myself find it essential to create design in such a way that it doesn’t distract, so that it provides peace and quiet in the interior. And hidden hardware like this definitely contributes to that.”

According to Hertman, the argenta pivotica pro system in the model home is also a grateful gift for architects to – in addition to the floor and ceiling – also allow walls to carry through the space uniformly. Especially if they’re just as luxuriously finished.
“By the way, did you know that a lot of architects draw their designs with the doors closed? And people just leave their doors open 90% of the time? It reiterates the importance of a good integration of those interior doors. A room has a certain beauty in itself, so why not see those doors as additional adornments?”
Trend colours
According to Hertman, ARLU's strength lies in the fact that it closely follows interior design trends. Whereas stainless steel or chrome used to be the standard for door fittings, there is now increasing demand for colours such as matt black and bronze. They have even more charisma with a brushed look.
“At the same time, they also brainstorm with the interior designer,” says Hertman. “They understand the art of ‘concealment’. For example, thanks to the right covers, you can’t see any screws on the hinges. Once again: it’s all in the details, but everything together contributes to an extremely refined result.”

Simple design, that's what it's all about for Osiris Hertman: "The legs of a table should still be visible, just like a child would see. The same applies to the complete picture of an interior: it should provide tranquillity, like nature. Interiors should also be far from finished, but allowed to grow around someone," he explains further. "So I often advise young couples to invest in beautiful, expensive design pieces or art, rather than marble on the walls or in the kitchen. They can take these beautiful objects with them to the next house. By using warm colours and natural luxury materials, we immediately create a certain atmosphere in a home. Just by thinking about the right interior lines. It is in stark contrast to some architects who - as soon as their job is done - take someone under their arm and only then make the house cosy."
